Whirli-Bird

You've made paper airplanes. But how about a paper helicopter? Print and cut out our template to make 6 colourful paper helicopters!

 
Find this and other cool paper flying contraptions in "Paper Fliers", part of the Paper Magic series of books by Top That! Publishing.
You will need:  A rectangle of paper (see below)
A pair of scissors
A paperclip
1. To use our template, click here. Print the image then click on your browser's "back" button to return to this page.
Tip: if you save the image to your computer's hard disk, you can print it later. Try printing it at different sizes for a mixed "fleet" of Whirli-birds!
2. Trim around the image, then cut into six strips.

3. Take one of the strips and make two slits along the dotted lines, as shown.

4. Bring the top and bottom ends together.

5. Fasten the two ends together with the paperclip.
This completes the Helicopter.

Let it fly!
How to Fly:
Drop the Whirli-bird from a height and watch it whirl round and round.
